Send secret messages with hard-boiled eggs

This may look like a regular, innocent egg… What you are about to see is eggs-actly what makes this tutorial so special!

Peel back the seemingly untouched shell to reveal a secret message on the surface of the hard-boiled egg.

Wonder how?The vinegar dissolves the calcium carbonate in the eggshell, allowing the alum to go through (or permeate) the shell and discolor the egg white. Mods on a boiled egg. Ingenious.

Thank you to Alberta Egg Producers.

That's hysterical and awesome

that's crazy.... can you even eat the egg after?

shouldn't eat it
the deterioration might disrupt the pH

because you shouldn't eat it write if you eat you will die

i agree with casey321b and what if they make scrambled eggs and die or make me an omelet :3 and i die :D i want an omelet now

It would only really work on easter in my house... no one really eats hard-boiled eggs, and you'd have to make absolutely sure that you got the cryptic ones in the right batch.

Plus, where the heck are you supposed to find alum these days?

can you eat the egg n' not die?

i mean by gettin' sick but not die...

our body contain white blood cells to protect us from germs and poisonous liquid and theres alot of nutrient inside our body.if you eat it you probably won't die.

I think this egg writing is bull#$%@. There is a group of us that have tried to duplicate this and it DOES NOT WORK! If anyone has successfully repeated this, please let me know what you are doing. Otherwise this just does not work.

I tried it and it didn't work either~!!

I used alum powder though cause i didn't know where to find alum~

Where I to find Alum??

Alum is used for pickling and baking powder. You will most likely find it in the spice aisle at the store.A little is OK, 20 grams will make you sick.
